Sticking to it

My attempt to blog everyday, once Diabetes Queensland notified all its members about my site, came undone very quickly yesterday! It seems the crazy week of either great excitement or moderate to high stress took its toll and my Friday started at 18! It was a day of constant injections to no avail
and despite not eating anything out of the ordinary (which of course only added extra frustration and stress). It’s amazing how stress can affect the body, no wonder it can lead to other chronic illnesses and complications such as heart attacks! My blood sugars were high and sticking that way.

Alas, my Friday night was everything but eventful with me becoming zombie like by 8:30, I was asleep by 9:30pm. Best thing about that? Being able to wake up fresh this morning and tackle it head on (‘Alright body! I hear you!). Blood sugar was still on the high side but I dealt with it, took myself off to the gym, smashed it for 45minutes, came home, had breakie...and then randomly tried gardening for some therapeutic release. What’d ya know, after 24 hours of struggling through blood sugars ranging between 10 and 19 I am now 7. Big sigh of relief and point taken that next week I will not destroy the work life balance I was trying to create by doing 10 hour work days and skipping my Monday morning workout (not the best foot to start the week on right!?!)
