This week was like a roller coaster in many ways. I was
either sitting glued to my work computer for hours on end or pushing myself
more than ever at the gym (paying for it today with head to toe body aches!);
Stressing over my current job or jumping around the room in excitement as I try
to get my blog and Run for Type 1 off the ground, and then finally

Sticking to it
My attempt to blog everyday, once Diabetes Queensland notified
all its members about my site, came undone very quickly yesterday! It seems the
crazy week of either great excitement or moderate to high stress took its toll
and my Friday started at 18! It was a day of constant injections to no
avail

Aussie Aussie Aussie!
Happy Australia Day Everyone!
I have to say I am excited this morning; well that’s an understatement really... I'm super excited! (Better watch those blood sugars!) The Diabetes Australia – Queensland e-newsletter U-Turn was emailed out to all its members yesterday and I’ve had a great response to both ‘Run for Type 1’ and this blog. Thank you to everyone who is visiting, I hope that my ‘dairy’ type blogging helps people in some way.

The 'Work-Life' Balance
This week has been JAM packed and its only Tuesday night! Thank goodness we have a public holiday Thursday. Work is manic and my other projects seem to be all mounting at the same time. My schedule has been hard to keep as I squeeze more and more into each day.

Birthday Blow Out
While over all I had much better energy levels this week, I let myself down a bit as it was the first time I’d seen my partner in three weeks AND it was his birthday. By Sunday night I’d celebrated a wee bit too much… but who can pass up blueberry cheesecake and Chandon??? Feeling very sluggish today and my blood sugar don’t want to budge below 9. Its early to bed tonight and back on the horse tomorrow morning!!!

Just an average day...
Even though advances in diabetes treatment mean that I can live a flexible lifestyle and dose to what I eat (rather than eating to what I dose, as it was when I was first diagnosed). I find that I am most happy when I have a schedule, at least when it comes to my big 3: Exercise, Food and Work.

The Flow On Effect
Usually when I make any major changes to my lifestyle (eating habits, exercise regime, new job etc) I tend to see the changes effect my blood sugars about 48 - 72 hours later. So obviously with the 'New Year, New Me' approach I've been taking in 2012, I expected to see a few swings in my blood sugars and consequently adjust my overall insulin intake, particularly my long acting. But overall, there hadn't really been anything significant to report. That was...until, last night.
