Diabetes + Family + Career + Wedding Planning + Loss + Selling Houses = Blog Bog.

It's been silent on here for way too long. And even before then, it was beginning to get quiet.
My last post glimpsed into how life does get tough sometimes, and how hard it can be to simply acknowledge that, and let it be so, just so you can work it out. Well here I am, very very pleased to say, I am finally feeling like I've come up for fresh air again! An amazing, amazing feeling, and for all those of you who have been through long periods of epic proportions, whether wonderful, heartrending, poignant and more, you will understand when I say constant little 'Woo Hoo's and that particular little smile, the peaceful, satisfied, calmly happy little one, are now flowing in my being again.

Where have I been for the last six months or more? As we know, life with diabetes can be all consuming when intertwined with family, career and everyday goings-on... but this year I had a DIY wedding to plan, a house to pack up and sell, another family member pass away, my little brother's wedding, and one of the busiest, biggest years to date in my current work role . The main result being that I had no head space for writing, reading or doing anything extra to say the least! In the end, I couldn't even find the energy to post on fb on instagram. Sometimes when there's just too much on even the positive moments can begin to burn and weigh me down.

But today I write to you having had an absolutely stunning love-filled wedding, supported my brother through his own (and proudly stood beside him as best man/groomsmaid), sold our family home (only recently though so there is ALOT more packing to be done) and the workload in my job is slowing towards the end of the year. *big deep breath* life is  feeling calmer again.

The biggest highlight by far this year has of course been marrying the love of my life, so today I'm reminiscing about the happy. Of course diabetes was there on our big day but she wasn't going to hold me back, rather we had a bit of fun with her and got our photographer to jump in and capture such a big part of our life!

I'm on shots and my dress was a bit big, so I knew I was going to have to lift it up, most likely in public as we were married in a gorgeous park by by the sea. I ran with this and bought a special pair of bright pink hot pants for the occasion. I still needed a bit of assistance from hubby though, all that dress was more than a handful!

Don't get me wrong, I loved alot of this year, but there was just sooooooo much, and diabetes constantly reminds me that my plate is only so big, So if I'm going to put more and more things on there, at some time something has got to fall off, otherwise I'll just drop the entire thing. Not good!

I feel so lucky that so many of you are still here with me; on facebook and instagram too, sharing the journey with me. Thank you for not disappearing when I kinda did!

Here's to being back on the blog and in this journey with you again! xxx
